These guys are great. Recently had a leaking radiator on a 2013 Volvo and they replaced in a day for a very fair price. Every time I've brought in a car issue to them they've been honest, fair, and communicative. Nice to have reliable mechanics right down the street.

Came to Carbone’s to check out a suspension issue on my Tacoma. Service was solid and transparent. It is rare to find this level of straightforward, competent care. I will be going to them for service from now on.

The level of care, honesty, and competence is extraordinary. He charged less than half the dealer's estimate and went way out of his way to meet a timeline we needed. This is real old- fashioned genuine quality service.

I had my car towed here a couple of weeks ago about an hour before closing time. JC was very courteous with me and let me know up front about what kind of damage I was probably looking at -- and he got right to work on fixing what was in front of him. He had every opportunity to keep it overnight and collect an extra fee from me, and he didn't. Instead, he told me that as much as he'd have liked to take on the job if there were greater damage, he didn't see it, and so my car was in good enough shape to drive home. I'm used to being taken for a ride at auto shops, and my back was really against the wall that night. His honesty and professionalism cannot be overstated. Two weeks on, my car is still running great, but if anything happens, I'll be coming back.

First, John asked what I needed done, gave me different scenarios so I fully understood what would need to be done in each case and let me know he would diagnose the car first. Then I checked in with a lovely woman who took my info down. She made sure I had what I needed before leaving the car. They pulled my car back about 5 mins after and began diagnosing the issue(s). No more than 10 minutes later John came back and told me the issues, gave me quotes for the different issues (I've gotten higher quotes for smaller issues in the past).While making the repairs, John found 1 other minor things and did me a solid (thank you again!!) Maybe one of the smoothest processes ever, everyone I encountered was polite and had a smile after a long hot day. Will be back for all of our auto needs -Samantha, Luis, and Ezra

My car was totaled in front of my apartment and these guys helped me so much. They towed it and were able to store it there til it was picked up as a total loss. Honest, reliable, and couldn't recommend them enough!!! 10/10

After a sudden problem with our car’s exhaust system, we needed it checked quickly. We found Carbones from a google search, and because they had so many great reviews, we took a shot with them. I’m happy to say that they exceeded our expectations. They were so friendly and accommodating, and not only did they check the car, they happily repaired it while we waited. It was a wonderful experience (even given the circumstances) and we’re so happy to have found them.

As soon as we arrived in the city my exhaust pipe broke. We couldn’t do anything right away because my husband had tests at the hospital. I needed a local shop and I was very worried about the area. I read all the reviews and decided to go with go with Carbones. I called them and spoke with such a kind woman who said bring it over and they would look at it. My husband was concerned about my choice initially because of the area. We arrived and they took care of us right away. John was very upfront with cost and what was needed to be done. His wife was kind and welcoming. An hour later and we were on our way. We had a very positive experience especially since we were from out of town and my husband had a hospital visit.

These guys are absolute lifesavers. We had our engine light come on right before the holidays, so we needed an inspection quickly. We arrived at the store at 6pm and had our car inspected, diagnosed, and fixed before 7:30pm. Very nice folks too! Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a mechanic in the New Haven area.

Great work and great people! John really knows his stuff and I was so grateful he and his team were able to complete the suspension job I needed. My car drives better than before. Many shops don’t take on foreign cars but John did and knew how to get it done. Great price and great person!
